Library & Knowledge service Awareness Week

Uncategorized

This June we are celebrating the second NHS Knowledge and library Services Awareness Week. For a full week HEE and Knowledge and Library Services around the country will be celebrating and promoting the great work that has been done delivering high quality resources and services to support frontline staff.

This last year has seen the launch of the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub, providing 24/7 digital access to reliable up-to-date information, research and learning resources through a single platform. As part of the hub HEE funding has also provided access to cool new resources from Third Iron including Libkey Nomad and Browzine. For more information see our blog page on third iron HERE.

Having the resources is all well and good but what is important is the friendly professional teams of the knowledge and library specialists who provide their unique expertise to help students and staff to grow professionally throughout their career journey. From providing training in how to find and appraise the information you need to bringing the gift of time to frontline staff and allowing them to focus on patient care by linking them to reliable up to date information via literature searches.

The plan is to host these awareness weeks every two years from now on – But don’t forget Gateshead Knowledge and Library Service is there for you 24/7. Join us to celebrate and find out more about how we can help you in the library and on our twitter
